Stockmen’s Association seeking applicants for executive job

The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) Executive Vice President Search Committee is now accepting applications for the position that will be opening soon.

Committee members met April 30 to finalize the job description and set a timeline to find a qualified replacement for Wade Moser, who will retire in December after 26 years at the helm of the organization.

Applicants must have a livestock production background and a strong understanding of the state and national beef industry. They must also possess strong leadership, administrative, financial and budgeting skills and public relations expertise.

The NDSA executive vice president supervises the organization’s staff, programs and activities; serves as its chief lobbyist; maintains its financial records; develops an annual budget; records all meeting proceedings; and represents the organization and its policies, among other duties.

The position comes with a competitive salary (commensurate with training and experience), a 401K retirement program, paid vacation, health insurance benefits and an association vehicle.

To apply, candidates should submit a resume including experience, education, qualifications, employment history and the names of three references to NDSA President and Executive Vice President Search Committee Chairman Mark Huseth, 15340 Hwy. 27, McLeod, ND 58057 by July 7.

The search committee intends to screen applications in mid-July and conduct interviews in August and September. The estimated starting date for the new executive vice president is Dec. 1.

Questions about the position should be directed to the search committee members, including Huseth, (701) 439-2385; Steve Brooks of Bowman, N.D., (701) 523-5391; Gene Harris of Killdeer, N.D., (701) 863-6695; Melvin Leland of Sidney, Mont., (701) 565-2347; Casey Maher of Morristown, S.D., (701) 522-3616; Jack Reich of Zap, N.D., (701) 873-4173; and Richard C.
