POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
TITLE:
Executive Vice President,
LOCATION:
DUTIES: Under the direction of the
board of directors and the president, the executive vice president is
responsible to:
a)
Carry out all activities of the
association as prescribed, including supervision of the publication of the ND
STOCKMAN magazine, livestock brand inspection, brand recording and environmental
services programs, membership activities and other association sponsored
programs.
b)
Keep a current and accurate roll
of all members.
c)
Protect and maintain all
property and assets of the association.
d)
Keep a complete record of all
financial matters of the association and report to the board of directors and
the membership.
e)
Maintain a close liaison with
the president of the association and consult with him/her, particularly in those
areas not covered by established policy, law or
regulation.
f)
Keep a record of all proceedings of the
association including meetings of the board of directors, executive committee,
brand board and committee meetings.
g)
Develop an annual budget of
association income and expenditures.
h)
Maintain a high level of
business integrity and ethics.
i)
Provide the leadership necessary
for maintaining a vigorous association, while always conducting active liaisons
with other appropriate groups, both public and private.
j)
Act as the association's chief
lobbyist.
k)
Attend industry functions and
represent association policy.
l)
Perform any other activities as
recommended by the board of directors.
m)
Carry out all duties as
described in the association by-laws pertaining to the executive vice president
and treasurer.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates
are required to have a background in livestock production either by experience,
education or both. Leadership
ability, administrative, financial and budgeting skills, and expertise in public
relations are all necessary attributes. Candidates must also possess an
understanding of the industry on state and national
levels.
SALARY &
BENEFITS: Competitive but commensurate with
training and experience. A 401k
