Neshem named special projects director

Berthold, N.D., native Elizabeth Neshem has been named the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association’s (NDSA) special projects director. She joined the NDSA office team on June 25.

As the special projects director, Neshem will oversee a variety of NDSA programs, including the North Dakota Junior Beef Expo, All Breeds Cattle Tour, Tomorrow’s Top Hands Beef Leadership Summit, Mentoring Program and others.

The North Dakota State University ag economics major brings a host of experience to the position, growing up on Ward County Hereford and diversified livestock operation, where she was active showing cattle, competing in 4-H and FFA activities, helping lead the North Dakota Junior Hereford Association as an officer and queen and volunteering at the Ward County Shoot-Out Livestock Show. In college, she was a member of the Ag Ambassadors, the Agribusiness Club, the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow and the Saddle & Sirloin Club, where she co-chaired the Little International Ad Sales and Design Committee.

She also gained valuable agribusiness experience while interning at the Northern International Livestock Exposition in Billings, Mont., the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo., and the Red River Valley Fair in West Fargo, N.D., where she directed the show’s Agricultural Education Center effort.

“We are excited to welcome Elizabeth to the NDSA,” said NDSA President Warren Zenker, a rancher from Gackle, N.D. “Her livestock industry background and demonstrated work ethic are perfect matches for this job and will benefit our members and the agricultural youth with whom she works.”
