Stockman receives Livestock Publication Council’s most prestigious publication award
The North Dakota Stockman was honored at the Livestock Publication Council’s (LPC) Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids, Mich., in August, with the organization’s most prestigious publication award. The 48-year-old magazine received the LPC’s James Flanagan Award, which recognizes the most improved livestock publication in the LPC/s annual communications contest.
Judges evaluated the magazine’s writing, design and accomplishment of objectives before declaring it the 2001 winner.
NDSA Communications Director Julie Schaff Ellingson, who has served as the Stockman’s editor and advertising manager for the past six years, said, "We were tickled to receive this honor. The Livestock Publication Council is a respected professional organization and to rise to the top in it is gratifying, at least."
She continued, "But no matter what titles and awards the publication receives, the best judges of the magazine will always be the readers and advertisers." That’s why she encourages feedback, story ideas and photograph submissions to make the Stockman the best it can be.
