Environmental Stewardship Rules 

 RULES FOR COMPETITION

• By stewardship, we mean the environmentally beneficial management of natural resources.

• Applicants must be North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) members.

• The NDSA winner will compete for one of seven National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) regional awards.
• All applications must be typed (12-point type size) and submitted on loose-leaf typing paper. Applications, including any documentation, may not exceed 17 pages.

• Color photographs are encouraged. Photos should be submitted on no more than four 8 ½ x 11" sheets of typing paper. Please provide brief descriptions beside the photographs.

• Videotapes will not be accepted.

• Up to three letters of recommendation will be accepted. A letter of recommendation from an agency or environmental group is encouraged (i.e. Natural Resources Conservation Service, Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, Nature Conservancy, etc.)
    
• Completed nomination forms may not exceed 17-8 ½ x 11" pages: 10 typed pages for the application and documentation (including maps); four pages for photos and photo descriptions; and up to three letters of recommendation. Do not send nominations in three-ring notebooks or binders of any kind.

• Documentation of stewardship practices is encouraged.

• The NDSA winner will be announced at the NDSA convention banquet and will receive $250 and a plaque.

• Completed entry forms are due by Feb. 15. Late entries will not be accepted.
